The Why, How & What to Cultivating the Galaxy’s Best Young Founders
How We Started
'Back when I was in school, I always had a lot of ideas and projects I wanted to work on. However when I told them to my peers, my teachers and my parents, their reactions would always be like “Jing Wen, could you please focus on your studies!” Hence, I thought that by having a 2-3 hour or a boot camp to provide students the resources and space to work on their own little projects would be beneficial to those who are like me when I was younger.
Reactor was founded back in 2012. I was 19 at that time. I met my co-founder, Khairul Rusydi, at SPRING Singapore when both of us were doing an internship. He had pitched the idea of Reactor to me and I got on board as I saw that it could provide the space and support for the junior generation to work on our ideas and this was something lacking when we were younger.
Now, we are designing and conducting Entrepreneurship Education programmes for schools from Singapore, and major cities around the region such as Jakarta and Bangkok, to enable young people to start working on the world’s biggest problems, creating lasting positive change, and in so doing, contribute to society and humanity.'

What our teachers have to say
Mr Loh Chih Hui
HOD/Integrated Programme, St Nicholas Girls' School
Through a unique blend of e-learning and hands-on workshops structured around real life scenarios, students were able to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and better appreciate the value of asking questions, whilst honing their problem solving and presentation skills.
The students would recommend the workshop to their peers, which is testament to the effectiveness and professionalism of the team of trainers from Reactor.
From Students
What our students have to say
Meagan Wang
Year 5, Raffles Institution
The awesome thing is that they not only teach you the fundamentals of starting and running a business, but also life lessons covering values and qualities a business leader should have.
The 5-day bootcamp exemplifies this perfectly. As intense as it was, it was very rewarding as you realize how much you are capable of when you really apply yourself.
Shilpa S Nath
Participant at Punggol 21 Workshop
Lean methodology is quite a new concept to many of the participants and yet they left the room knowing more about the concept and also how they can use this concept in everyday situations to test their ideas, and figure out if its viable. The conductor of the workshop also kept the participants engaged at all times.
Stanley Cheong
J1, Tampines Junior College
One of the most important skill that I felt that I learned was the thought process that entrepreneurs used to identify problems as it allowed me to think more critically which can be useful even as a student (which I am now).
Furthermore, I also learned many other skills such as organizing events as well as talking to people for extended periods of time.
Mou Yan Qiao
J1, Tampines Junior College
Through this programme, I have understood what true entrepreneur meant, which is to understand the real issue and the real problems that people are facing, gain a lot of in depth feedback from them, analyse it, before creating the solutions.
I have learnt that age should not be a factor in determining success and also, I realised that I need to step out of my comfort zone as communication/interaction are really important if I want to become a CEO. I realised that I need to be able to make my product sound really appealing and useful as that is also a skill as part of a CEO.
Rebecca
J1, Anglo Chinese Junior College
Being mildly introverted, networking has definitely been a hurdle for me to overcome. Through the pitching course we attended, the trainer has provided me with practical help through step-by-step instructions on pitching. This helped me be more comfortable with selling and presenting a project plan.
Having heard from many friends and peers that they dread entering the workforce and being stuck with a 9-5 job, I feel that entrepreneurship is something that more students can consider. To truly be able to learn more about start-ups with first-hand experience, this is definitely a programme I would encourage people to attend.
Swetha
J1, Anglo Chinese Junior College
I learnt about the importance of networking as it will allow you to meet more people who will be willing to provide you with advice, assistance and even, opportunities. Moreover, I also learnt that passion and enthusiasm is key, not only in work, but in life as well.

Shuo Yan
Grab (formerly known as GrabTaxi)
Grab worked with Reactor on GrabSchool, a regional program that provides a platform for drivers' children to develop soft skills in teamwork and communication, prompts them to think about what the future holds, and guides them through the design thinking approach to innovation.
As our Singapore training partner, Reactor designed a program that was uniquely suited to the age range and background of our participants. We transported 80 children to the year 2064, in which they were challenged to design and build the car of the future. In addition to overwhelmingly positive feedback on the program, over three-quarters of the children pledged to approach daily life differently and actively solve problems around them. We're excited at the prospect of working with Reactor again to bring entrepreneurial thinking to more children in Singapore.

These 2 to 3 hour REN Meetups may include guest speakers, industry representatives from start-ups and SMEs, and/or learning journeys to places of interests.
During sessions, participants may receive a plug & play REN Lesson Plan which equips educators to run a related and interactive in-class activity that can be used or remixed for your own classes.

Events and Interactions With Our Corporate Partners
Reactor EntreCamp June 2017 at IMDA Pixel Labs @ National Design Centre
A reflection by Rafael: Throughout, it was a journey of self-discovery of both what I was capable of (organising my thoughts and problem-solving) and what I could improve on (presentation skills and time management), as the start-up journey was unravelled to us: the start-up methodology, idea generation and divergent thinking, prototyping and presenting a competitive pitch.
With the rise of tech disruption in today’s world, parents can expect their children to encounter Virtual Reality (VR) in all facets of their learning. Ryan Beckmand, the founder and Managing Director of VR development firm, Sciosity, spent a Saturday discussing just that with the Reactor Parent Network at General Assembly (GA).
Reactor at SMU-Wharton Speakers Panel
As part of the SMU-Wharton programme, our Co-founder and Training Dragon, Weiyuan, was invited to share about his thoughts on youth entrepreneurship, as well as Reactor’s progress in nurturing our young talents. Reactor Parent Network
Empowering Parents of Young Entrepreneurs
About Reactor Parent Network
Each month, we get together to discuss ideas and activities to support our kids. We weave entrepreneurship into our parenting to teach them values and skills.
Collectively, we’re known as the Reactor Parent Network (RPN), so called because when the right elements are brought together in the right environment, a reaction occurs.
Through this meet up, we hope to nurture our kids and support them in their personal and professional development. As a parent, we hope that our child will grow to be independent, resilient, and above all, contributing members to society.
Each meetup, we discuss about a new sub-topic revolving around how entrepreneurship can be applied at home. For example, how can Mummy use design thinking to teach empathy? Or how can Daddy use pitching to teach communication skills? It could be as simple as setting up a lemonade stand or blog-shop*, or as wacky as building a drone^.
Entrepreneurship lends itself well to teaching positive values and 21st century skills, and prepares our kids for a challenging (and exciting!) new world.
So come and join us for our monthly meetups! Build a safe environment for our kids to try, fail, and try again. Each meetup also comes with a worksheet containing ideas and activities that Mum and Dad can try with the kids.
